San Diego County, California - Information and Properties for Sale

San Diego County

San Diego County is a wonderful location with many areas of unique real estate to choose from. To the South near Mission Bay, Point Loma, Coronado Island, you can find properties on the water and some with boatdocks, similar to Newport Beach in Orange County (but without the high pricepoint of NB). If your looking for oceanfront property, there are choices from Oceanside to Imperial Beach for oceanfront Condos, Townhomes, Estates, or income units. Rancho Santa Fe in North County San Diego boasts some wonderful large lot sizes and equestrian estates, just 5 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Del Mar. Condos near the coast start around $490,000 for something decent in square footage and detached homes start around $700,000 (Oceanside is an exception where detached homes start around $500,000).

Downtown San Diego

San Diego is located in the southwest area of Southern California. With its beautiful beaches and terrific year-round weather, it is the epitome of what Southern California has to offer.

San Diego is a big city of over one million, yet it has a small-town feel that locals take pride in and has been appropriately dubbed, “America’s Finest City.” Downtown San Diego lies next to San Diego Bay and is quickly becoming one of the most popular spots in town to live. Similar feel to San Francisco with it's many high -rise buildings by the water, real estate options consist of condominiums, townhouses, and a limited number of single-family detached homes. Currently home to over 30,000 residents, with more housing being built, the redevelopment of Downtown San Diego is a model of what planned, reasonable growth can do for a downtown environment.

Downtown is home to attractions such as a gorgeous waterfront, Horton Plaza shopping center, the Gaslamp Entertainment District and Petco Park, the home of major league baseball’s Padres. The Marina District is also one of Downtown’s most beautiful and desirable neighborhoods. With many parks and open spaces, Marina District’s tree lined and peaceful streets provide a diverse range of residential living options. Core Columbia offers several older buildings converted into live/work lofts as well as a number of high-rise residential condominiums, with more underway. It is an easily accessible urban environment, where it is easy to walk to work, locate hundreds of restaurants or any of the great attractions. Take the ferry across the San Diego Bay to Coronado Island or walk around Sea Port Village shops and great Fish Market Restaurant.
